Hornady® Subsonic Ammunition is designed for accuracy and performance below the speed of sound, and this 7.62x39mm load features a 255gr Sub-X® bullet with a muzzle velocity of 1050 fps from a 20″ barrel, delivering 624 ft lb of muzzle energy. The Sub-X bullet features a lead core with long grooves in its gilding metal jacket combined with the bullet’s flat profile and the patented Flex Tip® insert within its hollowpoint cavity to help it expand reliably at low velocities. Each round is loaded in premium brass casings with non-corrosive primers and low-flash propellants to ensure a low-flash signature perfect for use with or without a suppressor.
Powders are selected for optimal performance and consistency from lot to lot, and the ammunition offers the performance and accuracy shooters have come to expect from Hornady. Hornady® Subsonic Ammunition doesn’t have the loud report of a supersonic round, and paired with a suppressor, it’s even quieter.
