The Inland Manufacturing M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine is modeled after a late production 1944 M1A1 Paratrooper model with a folding “low wood” walnut stock, type two barrel band, and includes the same adjustable sights which were actually introduced in 1944. This semi-automatic rifle chambers .30 Carbine ammunition, features an 18″ barrel with a 1:20″ twist, and delivers 15 rounds of capacity. The rifle includes a folding wire stock and comes with cartouche marks and stampings in the wood specific to Inland Carbines of WWII.
The walnut stock and steel parts are treated in a grey parkerized finish. When folded, the rifle measures 25.75 inches; overall length is 35.75 inches, and weight is approximately 5.2 pounds. Inland Manufacturing, originally a division of General Motors, became one of the largest gun manufacturers in the US during WWII, producing nearly 3 million firearms in less than 5 years. The M1A1 Paratrooper model represents the folding stock variant of Inland’s most notable firearm production.
