Kicks Industries’ Gobblin Thunder Turkey choke tube features a conical parallel design that pairs a typical cone of constriction with a parallel section roughly 1″ in length where constriction remains constant. This design incorporates Kicks’ exclusive directional diagonal ports angled at 135 degrees away from the shooter, which create a sharp forward inside edge that grabs, stabilizes, and slows the wad for faster separation of wad and shot column. The result is cleaner patterns unaffected by wad debris.
The diagonal port design reduces muzzle jump and recoil, enabling faster and more accurate follow-up shots. The 135-degree port angle significantly reduces side blast, making this choke particularly suited for close-quarters shooting in duck blinds, trap fields, and five stand. The ports resist fouling and remain clear through extended use. The external ported portion extends roughly 1 3/4″ from the muzzle and remains unnoticeable during shooting.
The Gobblin Thunder is a two-time winner of the NWTF still target shoot in Atlanta, GA, and a two-time winner of the NWTF Ladies Open Competition. It was the 1998 winner of the Jakes competition. Kicks has also captured many grand slam hunts with this choke. The Gobblin Thunder easily converts most factory-threaded 10 and 12 gauge barrels into a turkey hunting specialist.
