The Lee Precision Lead Hardness Testing Kit determines the exact Brinnell Hardness Number of an alloy in a simple six step process. The process involves pressing a hardened steel indenter ball into the bullet through the use of a standard single stage press. The indentation is measured with the Lee Pocket Microscope (included). The measurement is located on the supplied chart to determine the Brinnell Hardness Number.
This kit eliminates wasted components shooting too soft or too hard lead, allowing you to cast and load confidently while quickly and precisely checking the hardness of lead alloy. An exclusive conversion chart tells the maximum operating pressure of any lead alloy. The kit is compatible with standard reloading presses and includes the V-Block cradle, press ram, and microscope in one complete package.
The kit must be used in conjunction with a reloading press. The included optical microscope features 20 power magnification with 4 lenses. the Lee Precision 90924 provides the accuracy needed to ensure consistent results.
