This 12″ hand guard simplifies installation—just remove your OEM hand guard and end cap, then attach using Magpul’s patented mechanism. The ELG features six M-LOK slots positioned at the 3″, 6″, and 9 o’clock positions, giving you multiple mounting options for accessories. Shooters who want M-LOK versatility without sacrificing the rifle’s classic profile will appreciate that the hand guard is compatible with both Type 1 and Type 2 Magpul Rail Covers, while also improving grip control during heavy-recoiling .45-70 Gov’t rounds. An integrated hand stop at the front adds ergonomic control. Note that the ELG Hand Guard is designed specifically for Marlin 1895-pattern guns with a hand guard retaining cap; it will not fit 1894/336 pattern guns without modifications and requires a dovetail hand guard tenon to be added to any gun using a barrel band to retain the OEM hand guard.
