The Magpul MOE SL is a made in the USA hand guard designed for AR15/M4 firearms equipped with mid-length gas systems and A2 front sights. It combines M-LOK accessory slots with a lightweight, cost-effective design built from reinforced, heat-resistant polymer. An integral riveted aluminum heat shield provides durability without the added weight and expense of a full aluminum rail system.
M-LOK slots positioned at the two, six, and ten o’clock positions accept optional Picatinny rail sections and direct attach M-LOK accessories for tactical lights, slings, and grips. The hand guard features a large front extension and lower lip that shield the user from the hot front sight assembly while extending usable hand guard length. Installation is straightforward, utilizing the existing delta ring and round front hand guard retaining cap with the A2 front sight assembly.
The mid-length MOE SL hand guard serves as a direct replacement for most factory plastic, two-piece mid-length hand guards and requires a ROUND front hand guard retaining cap and rear spring-loaded delta ring. Note that some mid-length firearms use a triangular retaining cap and are not compatible. This hand guard is not compatible with piston-operated AR platforms and must be used with the A2 front sight assembly, as other gas blocks are not compatible. If equipped, the factory sling swivel must be removed from the A2 front sight assembly.
