The Magpul STR is a drop-in replacement buttstock for AR15/M4 carbines equipped with mil-spec sized receiver extension tubes. Building on the CTR design, the STR adds storage capability alongside an improved cheek weld, paired with two water-resistant battery tubes integrated into a compact, reinforced polymer A-frame construction. Each of the two water-resistant battery storage tubes on the left and right sides accommodates up to two CR123A lithium or AA batteries.
The STR preserves the CTR’s streamlined A-frame profile to prevent snagging, while its ambidextrous release latch and friction-lock system enable quick adjustments that remain secure under demanding conditions. Features include two integral sling loops, a reversible push-button QD sling mount, and a replaceable 0.30″ thick rubber butt-pad that delivers positive shoulder purchase to prevent slippage when wearing body armor or modular gear. Length of Pull ranges from 10.90″ to 14.20″ across six positions. Made in the USA.
