The Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical SPX is a high-performance 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun designed for tactical and defensive applications, featuring an 18.5-inch barrel and an FDE Cerakote finish that offers superior durability and reliability. With a 7-round capacity, adjustable length of pull from 12.5″ to 14.25″, and a drilled and tapped receiver with optic-ready Shield RMSc footprint compatibility, this shotgun is engineered for shooters who demand performance and versatility.
The 940 Pro Tactical SPX features an innovative forend/heat shield combination, an added shotshell carrier, built-in fiber optic ghost ring sights, and new adapters to allow more direct optic mounting choices for a true fighting tactical platform. Like all 940 Pro shotguns, the Tactical versions feature internal parts (gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear) with nickel boron-coating and extra finishing for ease of maintenance, corrosion resistance, and smooth, reliable operation. The 940 Pro Tactical shotguns are based on a cleaner-running and redesigned gas-operating system that may run up to 1,500 rounds between cleaning intervals.
The durable Cerakote polymer-ceramic coating in Flat Dark Earth provides superior abrasion and wear resistance, and anti-corrosion protection. Both the stock and forend feature Mossberg’s signature aggressive texturing for a secure grip and black matte finish. The shotgun includes an Accu-Choke System with a cylinder bore choke installed and has an overall length of 37 inches with a weight of 7.25 lbs.
