For rifles, the Sierra MatchKing 52 grain #1410 bullet offers shooters all the advantages of a boat tail design for 200 to 300 yard competition, while in handguns chambering cartridges in .22 caliber, the 52 grain MatchKing bullets often deliver superior accuracy in target competition. The #1410 was introduced in 1970, establishing a proven track record as a precision reloading component. These MatchKing reloading bullets feature a copper jacket with lead core, designed specifically for the demanding requirements of competitive target shooting.
The Sierra .22 caliber 52 grain HPBT features a bullet diameter of 0.224 inches with a hollow point boat tail design and an OAL of 0.713 inches. With a sectional density of .148, this bullet achieves ballistic coefficients of .225 at 3000 fps and above, .218 between 3000 and 2200 fps, and .212 at 2200 fps and below. Each box contains 500 rounds, providing reloaders with a substantial supply and practice.
While recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their heavier jackets will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to lightly jacketed alternatives. These bullets are purpose-built for competitive target shooting where precision and consistency are paramount. Available for USA purchase and export to Canada.
