Sierra MatchKing 6.5mm 142 Grain Hollow Point Boat Tail (HPBT) bullets are precision-engineered reloading components with a 0.264″ bullet diameter. The 142 gr #1742 design incorporates a longer ogive radius compared to the 140 gr #1740, delivering a higher ballistic coefficient and reduced sensitivity to crosswinds. Sierra MatchKing bullets feature very thin jackets held to exacting tolerances in diameter and weight, along with a small meplat design that contributes to a higher ballistic coefficient.
Each box contains 500 bullets and carries a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.626. These bullets require a barrel twist rate of 1×8″ or faster. Field testing demonstrates the 142-grain 6.5mm MatchKing achieving 0.3-0.5 MOA at 600 yards with extreme spread/standard deviation under 10 fps from a 1:8 twist barrel. These bullets are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy and are not recommended for most hunting applications.
