Sierra’s #2116 0.308″ 115 grain HP Varminter is now available as a Green Box item. This 115 grain #2116 Hollow Point represents the only 30 caliber Varminter rifle bullet and the largest caliber Varminter bullet within Sierra’s product range. The bullet is engineered to withstand exceptionally high velocities and functions across all 30 caliber cartridges, including magnums. It features a Ballistic Coefficient (G1) of 0.267 and is made in the USA.
Originally developed for Sierra’s 300 AAC Blackout ammunition, this bullet performs effectively on varmint use and, with proper shot placement, on medium sized game animals such as whitetail. It remains versatile across a wide variety of other cartridges as well. When loaded in faster velocity cartridges like a 308 Winchester, it delivers exceptionally deadly expansion characteristics better suited for varmints. The bullet is extremely accurate and has earned use among Hunter Benchrest competitors, producing explosive expansion on varmints and small game at velocities achievable across the full range of 30 caliber cartridges. It will travel effectively out to 250 yards and possibly more with the right zero.
