Springfield Armory announces the launch of the 1911 DS Prodigy Comp AOS 9mm in Coyote Brown Cerakote. The Prodigy Comp 4.25 takes the proven 1911 platform and enhances it with double-stack capacity, with the polymer grip module mounting to a forged steel frame offering capacities of 17 and 20. This 10-round variant is specifically configured for restricted jurisdictions. The pistol features a 4.25″ forged stainless steel bull barrel, forged carbon steel frame with Cerakote finish in Coyote Brown, polymer grips, tritium front and black serrated rear sights, optics-ready capability, ambidextrous safety, and integral compensator.
The 4.25-inch AOS-compatible slide and barrel assembly is integrally compensated to reduce muzzle rise, while a Picatinny rail is ready to accept today’s most popular accessories. The integral compensator is discreetly designed with a single port on the top of the hammer-forged slide and barrel, redirecting gas upwards to reduce muzzle rise and enhance control for faster and more accurate follow-up shots. The tritium front sight is positioned behind the compensator to ensure an uninterrupted sight picture.
The Prodigy Comp pistols feature slides cut for AOS (Agency Optic System) plates that deliver proper optic height for intuitive sight picture and instant target acquisition with an integral rear sight, shipping with a HEX Dragonfly compatible plate as well as a cover plate. Includes two magazines. A double-zipper soft case is included with each firearm for protection and transport.
