The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy AOS is a semi-auto pistol chambered in 9mm with a 5″ forged stainless steel barrel featuring a 1-in-16″ twist rate and an 11-degree crown. It comes with fiber optic front and black serrated rear sights, an overall length of 8.5″, and delivers both 17 and 20-round magazine capacities. The pistol is built on a forged carbon steel receiver with wraparound polymer grip module sporting an adaptive grip texture treatment, and features a black Cerakote finish on the forged carbon steel slide and receiver.
Taking the proven 1911 platform and enhancing it with double-stack capacity and a performance-driven feature set, this Prodigy model combines classic 1911 ergonomics with modern firepower. To allow use with either hand, the 9mm Prodigy features an extended ambidextrous frame-mounted safety. The pistol is optics-ready and can co-witness with the raised fiber-optic front sight and U-notch serrated rear sight, and includes a Picatinny rail for mounting accessories.
