The Strike Industries Mass Driver Compensator represents a quantum leap in compensator design. Inspired by theoretical mass driver engines in space travel, this system is driven by hot gasses expelled through the barrel and acts as a counter balance to attenuate mechanical recoil. Unlike barrel mounted compensators that add reciprocating mass, the Mass Driver separates from the operating components after ignition, allowing close to stock cyclic speeds while reducing reciprocating mass.
This compensator eliminates the need for threaded barrels and requires no permanent weapon modification. The design features a widened bore to reduce baffle strikes and keyholing rounds, along with a 2.5mm relief cut at the top rear to reduce “lipping” and damage to the slide face. Strike Industries recommends use with non-threaded barrels but confirms compatibility with most GLOCK aftermarket threaded barrels. It is engineered for GLOCK GEN3 G17 standard slides and is 50 state legal.
The SI-G3-MDCOMP-S package includes the comp main body, recoil spring, guide rod, guide rod fitment washer, guide rod head, internal spring, and guide rod plug. The Mass Driver Comp sits flush with OEM GLOCK slides and can be used in most open-ended holsters that accommodate compensators. Gunsmith or armorer installation is recommended, and Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242 is advised on all threads.
