VKTR Industries’ VK-1 is a lightweight, low profile, feature-rich, piston driven AR-15 that features patented state of the art internal components, offering shooters a flatter, cleaner, more consistent shooting experience than traditional DI or legacy piston driven AR’s in the lowest profile footprint on the market. VKTR Industries engineered the VK-1 piston system to offer all piston benefits with the same footprint and weight of a standard direct impingement system, utilizing optimum gas port sizing, an improved gas seal, and a staged gas bleed system that reduces operating rod inertia—resulting in a lightweight design which is flatter shooting and cleaner running than DI guns and other piston driven ARs. The upper receiver is thermal fit with the barrel to provide the best accuracy possible and reduce heat related shifting of point of impact, while a low profile handguard with M-LOK slots allows attachment of a wide variety of M-LOK compatible accessories.
The precision machined one-piece patented bolt carrier features correct timing and long advanced cam path, finished in thin, dense chrome for consistent lock up shot after shot and match performance right out of the gate. The cold hammer forged barrel features a QPQ nitrided finish, 1:7″ twist rate, and 1/2×28 muzzle threads, chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. The enhanced upper rail creates a truly continuous 12 o’clock Picatinny mount, optimizing available accessory real estate while reducing overall receiver weight.
