The VKTR Industries VK-1 Complete Upper features a gas piston operating system, accepts 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition, and includes a 16″ cold hammer forged barrel with QPQ nitride finish. The muzzle is threaded 1/2″x28 and fitted with an A2 flash hider, while the VK-1 complete upper features a gas system and 1-7 twist rate.
The engineers at VKTR Industries created the VK-1 piston system to offer all the piston benefits but with the same footprint and weight of a standard direct impingement system, with optimum gas port sizing, an improved gas seal, and a staged gas bleed system that reduces operating rod inertia—resulting in a lightweight design which is flatter shooting and cleaner running than DI guns and other piston driver ARs. The upper receiver is thermal fit with the barrel to provide the best accuracy possible and reduce heat related shifting of point of impact.
This complete AR-15 upper receiver includes a precision machined patented one-piece bolt carrier, patented low-profile VK-1 short stroke piston system with fully supported one piece op rod, removable gas block, radian raptor ambidextrous charging handle, and low profile M-LOK handguard. The BCG and charging handle are included, making this a ready-to-build upper assembly for discerning AR-15 builders.
