Wilson Combat hammers are manufactured from premium-grade steel formulated to maintain a clean, crisp trigger pull through repeated firing cycles. The geometry of these hammers has been carefully engineered, with particular attention to strut pin hole placement to facilitate a light trigger pull. Field experience confirms that this advanced design enhances both reliability and the ability to deliver a consistently crisp and safe trigger pull. All Wilson hammers are narrowed to ensure adequate slide/hammer clearance, and select models are skeletonized to reduce lock time. The skeletonization process accelerates hammer travel speed, which in turn lowers lock time, though it does not affect trigger pull quality.
The Ultralight Skeleton Hammer 337S is fully CNC machined from solid S-7 tool steel bar stock and heat treated to R/C 48-52 specifications to deliver a premium 1911-style hammer. This model features a skeletonized spur for minimal weight and fastest possible lock time, hammer hooks cut to .020″ with 8 RMS ground finish, and a narrow half-cock notch designed to prevent sear nose damage.
