Winchester Bioammo is a bio polymer-based shotgun ammunition that uses a sugarcane-based polymer to reduce reliance on traditional petroleum-based plastics in shot shells. Manufactured by BioAmmo in Segovia, Spain, this 12 gauge 2-3/4 inch ammunition with number 7.5 shot features cartridges and wads made from certified compostable materials. Protected by global patents, Bioammo delivers premium ballistic performance while minimizing environmental impact. The components are not certified as OK Compost-Industrial due to their thickness and the biodegradation timeframe required for that certification. When left in the environment, however, these cartridges will degrade into biomass, water, and CO2.
