The Winchester XPR Compact in 270 WSM is a bolt-action rifle engineered to meet the performance demands of modern hunters. Built on Winchester Repeating Arms’ legacy of quality, the XPR delivers reliable field performance backed by thoughtful mechanical design.
The rifle centers on Winchester’s M.O.A. Trigger System, with trigger housing and internal components machined from polished and hardened carbon steel and finished in blue for durability and corrosion resistance. A two-position safety operates intuitively under your thumb, while a bolt release button positioned forward of the safety lets you cycle unfired cartridges without disengaging the safety. The bolt shroud incorporates a cocking indicator for both tactile and visual confirmation of the rifle’s cocked or uncocked state.
The XPR bolt is manufactured from chromoly steel barstock and through-hardened during heat-treatment. Its three front locking lugs and short 60-degree lift improve scope clearance during cycling. A nickel Teflon coating ensures smooth operation and corrosion resistance. The one-piece trigger guard and magazine frame design incorporates a generous guard opening suited for gloved shooting.
Accuracy stems from a chromoly steel barrel that is precisely button-rifled and completely free-floating to eliminate pressure points. The rifle features a drilled and tapped chromoly steel receiver, synthetic stock fitted with Inflex Technology recoil pad, and a detachable single stack box magazine. This combination of design elements creates a capable hunting rifle built to perform season after season.
