A two-position safety operates intuitively under your thumb, while the bolt release button—positioned just forward of the safety—lets you cycle unfired cartridges with the safety engaged. The cocking indicator on the bolt shroud provides both tactile and visual confirmation of the rifle’s cocked or uncocked state.
The XPR bolt is precision-crafted from chromoly steel barstock and through-hardened during heat treatment. Its three front locking lugs and short 60-degree lift improve scope clearance during cycling, while a tough nickel Teflon coating ensures smooth operation and corrosion resistance. The one-piece trigger guard and magazine frame feature a generous opening designed for gloved shooting.
The button-rifled chromoly steel barrel is precisely manufactured to deliver outstanding accuracy across a wide variety of bullet weights and types. The free-floating barrel design eliminates pressure points that can rob accuracy. The rifle includes a drilled and tapped chromoly steel receiver, a synthetic stock fitted with Inflex Technology recoil pad, and a detachable single stack box magazine.
