The Winchester XPR Compact in 6.5 PRC with a 22-inch barrel is a rugged bolt-action rifle engineered to meet the demands of serious hunters. Built on the foundation of Winchester Repeating Arms’ reputation for lasting quality, the XPR delivers the performance and reliability expected from this storied manufacturer.
At the core of the XPR is Winchester’s M.O.A. Trigger System, featuring a trigger housing and internal components constructed of polished and hardened carbon steel with a blued finish for durability and corrosion resistance. The rifle includes a two-position safety operable with your firing hand thumb, and a bolt release button located just forward of the safety that allows cartridge cycling while the safety remains engaged. A cocking indicator on the bolt shroud provides both tactile and visual confirmation of the rifle’s cocked or uncocked state.
The bolt itself is crafted from chromoly steel barstock and through-hardened during heat-treatment, featuring three front locking lugs and a short 60-degree lift to improve scope clearance during cycling. A nickel Teflon coating ensures smooth operation and corrosion resistance. The one-piece trigger guard and magazine frame design provides a generous guard opening for gloved use.
The chromoly steel barrel is precisely button-rifled for consistent accuracy across a wide range of bullet weights and types, and employs a free-floating design to eliminate pressure points that compromise accuracy. The receiver is drilled and tapped chromoly steel, paired with a synthetic stock featuring Inflex Technology recoil pad and a detachable single stack box magazine. This Compact model incorporates a shorter length of pull and Perma-Cote matte gray metal finish.
