The Winchester XPR Hunter is a bolt-action rifle engineered to meet the demands of serious hunters. Built on Winchester Repeating Arms’ reputation for lasting quality, the XPR combines rugged construction with practical features designed for field performance.
At the core of every XPR is Winchester’s M.O.A. Trigger System. The trigger housing and all internal components are constructed of polished and hardened carbon steel with a blued finish for durability and corrosion resistance. The rifle features a two-position safety operable with your firing hand thumb, and a bolt release button positioned just in front of the safety that allows the action to cycle unfired cartridges while the safety remains on. A cocking indicator on the bolt shroud provides both tactile and visual confirmation of the rifle’s cocked or uncocked state.
The XPR bolt is machined from chromoly steel barstock and through-hardened during heat-treatment. The bolt design incorporates three front locking lugs and a short 60-degree lift for improved scope clearance during cycling. A nickel Teflon coating ensures smooth operation and corrosion resistance. The one-piece trigger guard and magazine frame design provides a generous guard opening for gloved use.
The chromoly steel barrel is precisely button-rifled for consistent accuracy across a wide range of bullet weights and types. The barrel is free-floating to eliminate pressure points that compromise accuracy. The XPR features a drilled and tapped chromoly steel receiver, synthetic stock with Inflex Technology recoil pad, and a detachable single stack box magazine. In 300 Winchester Short Magnum with a 24-inch barrel, the XPR delivers the performance hunters expect from Winchester.
