The Weatherby Mark V Backcountry 2.0 Carbon pairs the brand’s tensioned carbon fiber barrel with the classic steel Weatherby Mark V action to deliver a lightweight hunting rifle. Weighing just 5.8 lbs, this 6.5 Creedmoor features the Peak 44 Blacktooth stock—the lightest production carbon fiber stock on the market—which accounts for much of the rifle’s reduced mass. The second generation 3DHEX recoil pad works alongside the rifle’s design to minimize both weight and recoil impulse.
The bolt body incorporates more pronounced spiral fluting that removes weight while reducing bearing surface contact within the action, resulting in smoother cycling. A lightweight aluminum extended and skeletonized knob rounds out the bolt assembly. The rifle is fitted with a titanium Accubrake ST featuring 30 symmetrically-spaced ports designed to manage recoil across all chamberings. The brake profile blends smoothly with the #4 carbon fiber barrel.
Exposed carbon fiber appears on both the barrel and stock, while all metal surfaces on the action and barrel are finished in ceramic Cerakote in Patriot Brown. The stock itself carries a brown and green pattern to break up the rifle’s outline in the field.
