Building on the legacy of its predecessor, the Weatherby Mark V Backcountry 2.0 takes the classic steel Weatherby Mark V action and refines it with significant enhancements. The standout feature is the carbon fiber Peak 44 Blacktooth stock, with the lightest configurations weighing under 20 ounces. Integrated into the stock is a 3DHEX recoil pad—a system featuring interlocking voids that progressively collapse during recoil, extending the recoil impulse duration and reducing felt kick from magnum loads. The lightweight fluted barrel is paired with Weatherby’s Accubrake ST, while the bolt body incorporates pronounced spiral fluting that shaves weight and decreases bearing surface within the action for improved cycling. The threaded bolt handle carries a lightweight aluminum extended and skeletonized knob.
